The recent Backup and Disaster Recovery Survey fielded by StorageCraft at the Storage Networking World Conference, shows that customers are heavily reliant on their backup operations to safeguard data. According to the survey, 70 percent of respondents questioned said they are currently using data backup to ensure availability of underlying IT and applications.

The survey key findings also concluded:

91% of respondents stated they would you like to eliminate or reduce their Backup windows

79% of respondents stated they had a Disaster Recovery Plan however 50% were not confident they could restore after a disaster to their recovery time objectives (RTO) with their existing backup and recovery technologies

76.8 % of respondents stated that they have suffered a tape backup / restore failure

74.8 % of respondents stated it takes 4+ hours to perform a complete backup of their data

45.9% of respondents stated that it takes more than 6 hours to rebuild a Windows™ server

34 % of respondents complete a full backup of data and the entire system on a daily basis
